What do beer and ancient artifacts have in common? More appropriately, what is a museum doing talking about beer? In March, 2016 the Museum of World Treasures sent its Curator of Exhibits, Tim Howard, to Prague, Czech Republic and Budapest, Hungary to conduct research on artifacts in the Museum’s collection. While the focus of the trip was not on studying beers, we thought that he would be remiss in between visiting museums if he did not research beer in one of its oldest homesteads.
In order to fund this research trip and provide a new way for Museum guests to enjoy the exhibits, the Museum of World Treasures will hold its first annual Beer Culture event on Friday, April 22. Come experience Wichita’s local beer culture as you experience the cultures of the world—all beneath one roof.
Guests will enjoy samples from some of the best-known, local breweries—River City Brewing Co., Hopping Gnome Brewing Co., Walnut River Brewing Co., and Wichita Brewing Co.—while exploring the Museum exhibits and having a chance to win great raffle prizes throughout the night. Not a fan of beer? Wine will be available for the wine aficionados that join us that evening, courtesy of Beyond Napa.
Tickets are $20 per person until April 15th. Starting April 16th, ticket prices will increase to $25 per person. Each ticket will include 1 punch card with 5 samples of beer or wine, and 1 souvenir glass. Extra punch cards will be available for purchase at $10 each. Tickets will be available at the door for $25 if the event does not sell out beforehand. Click here for tickets!
