Pirates on the Patio

Argh, mateys! To celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day on Sept. 19, the Museum will host Pirates on the Patio! This special Discovery Days event will feature a Sandbox Pirate Treasure Hunt, a Treasure Corner Photo Opportunity, Talk Like a Pirate and Dress Like a Pirate contests, and more! Come dressed in your pirate best and practice yer sea shanties on the patio in front of the Museum of World Treasures! This event is open to the public.

Jim Finneran, a dedicated volunteer at the Museum, in the Children's Activity Center on Customer Appreciation Day.
The host of this event is Jim Finneran, a.k.a. Scruffy the Pyrate. Jim first volunteered with the Museum of World Treasures three years ago on Customer Appreciation Day. Since then, he has done living history presentations, assisted with the planning of Spring Break Week of Heroes, and built interactive exhibit pieces for the Museum, such as castle walls in the Creating the Crown exhibit and the Pyrate’s Corner in the Children’s Activity Center. Jim is excited to be participating in Pirates on the Patio for Talk Like a Pirate Day on Sept. 19!

Discovery Days is generally held on the last Saturday of every month, but is being held a week earlier in September due to Museum Day Live! on Sept. 26.

For more details about Pirates on the Patio, please visit our Facebook page. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors.
