Unraveling the Mummy's Curse at MOWT

Please join us at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 30 for Coffee with the Curator featuring Hannah Thompson, a graduate student at Texas Tech University. Perfect for Halloween, Hannah will give a lecture titled, "From Sacred Bones to Blood-Curdling Horror: Unraveling the Mummy's Curse."

The 1922 discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb is perhaps the most famous example of the mummy's curse in action, but the myths surrounding the opening of the tomb only built upon already well-established curse narratives. Join us to explore the changing dynamics of the curse from its origins in Victorian literature to the horrifying mummy of early 20th-century films.

Admission for this educational program is free for Museum Members and only $4(+tax) for non-members. Enjoy coffee from the Spice Merchant, a light breakfast, and new friendships. Please visit our website for more information or call the Museum at 316.263.1311.
